My doggie door

My mom is always looking for things to make my life (and hers too) easier. So, she bought a doggie door. She was so excited about the door even she installed it herself and let me tell you that it was not easy. She didn't have the right tools so she had to do it with what she had on hand. Finally she managed to install it. Next thing, she tried to make me to go through the door to come in and out (haaaaaaaaaa-haaaaaaaaaa, haaaaaaaaaa-haaaaaaaaa!!!). Comands, treats, toys... nothing has worked. The thing is that I don't like to push with my nose, soooo its impossible!! But guess what? My grandma is very smart and she found the perfect solution... she keeps the door open with a cord!! (picture # 3) my mom calls this "the perfect grandma's mexican solution". In that way I can come in and come out freely!!
Now my question is... Am I the only one fool dog who can't use a doggie door properly? Mmmmhhh! I have to think about it!!

We love your doggy door! If Snickers had one, I don't think we'd ever see her in the house. She loves it outside.

We don't have a doggie door. My grandma has cats that use the doggie door. Your little dress is cute and your grandma is a smart lady to tie it open for you.

Ohhhhhh, we have a doggie door too!

When old Shula use to live here (she passed away at 16 the month before I was found) she had a problem at first with the doggie door too. Eventually she learned to nudge the door with her nose a little, then push. She did eventually learn, it just took a little time for the humans and other doggies to show her how to do it. Just be patient, and you will learn. Maybe the humans could give you a little "push" through, a few times, just to show you it's not too bad!

Oh Lorenza you will love the dog door! We have one and love the easy access to outside!!

Our feline sister is too good for the door. She will sit in front of it and wait for a human to push open the flap for her. She thinks she's the queen or something.

Lorenza, you're a lucky girl to have your own door and a clever gramama. I live in an apt. so no doggy doors...why should you know how to open your own door, that's what hoomans do for us.
Have a very super weekend

Can you imagine how big my doggy door would be? Might as well just leave the actual door open, hehehe!

Have a great weekend Lorenza!

Who said you don't use the door properly? It looks like you go through it when it is open. It just took the humans long enough to realize they needed to leave it open for you!
Very pretty pink dress for a very pretty dachsie!

Hi Lorenza,
We have never used a Doggy door. We wish we could though. That would be so much better than waiting all day for Mom & Dad to get home and let us out.

Cute dress.
My doggie door is on out French windows and my mommy would stand on the other side of the door and I would want to get in or out depending where she was standing. You will love it once you get used to it.The flapping niose of the door closing would scare me so it took me a while too.
I think your grandma loves you a lot!She sounds real neat !

Oh Lorenza, you are SOOOOOO cute! Ha ha ha ha!!! Your mom must be a GENIUS, because my girl would NEVER figure out how to install one of those!!!

Fig doesn't like to push things open with her nose either - I think it's because her nose is so smooshed. She uses the top of her head... maybe you could try that?

Oh oh Lorenza!! You are gonna laugh at this! Take a look at Zach's doggie door. It's a door within a door within a door! Heehee.

That's so cool that you got a doggie door! I'm glad grandma found a solution! I've never used one before, so I don't know whether I'd like having one or not.

Gosh Lorenza,

We wish we had a doggie door. We asked Mom and she said NO!!! We got mad when she said that but then she told us why. She is afraid someone would come into the backyard and steal us. It has been done in our neighborhood before and she said she would die if she didn't have her furbabies anymore.

We don't want our Mommy to die & leave us with some strangers so we told her we will just wait for her to go outside when she gets home......besides she stays outside and plays with us until it dark anyway. We are so selfish sometimes but Mommy keeps om loving us anyway.....she's like that!!

Just us and Mommy too!!

I love your doggie door. I wish I could have one but I'd just go and dig up the garden and catch birds and bark at cats and roll in the dirt if I wasn't supervised!
