Hurray!

My mom got herself another birtdhay present... that will work in my favor!

Last year, a friend of my mom lent her a dehydrator to make chicken jerky for me. She made it a couple of times and then she gave it back to her friend.

We were looking for one of those machines here in Mexico and we could not find any. One day she visited a site that is more or less like ebay. We found one. Used. At a price of around $500 usd... Haaaa! My mom thought that she is crazy... but not enough to pay that price!

One week ago, another friend of my mom told her that she was going to go to the States and asked to her if she needed something from there. Yeeees! That was our chance. My mom gave her some money and told her what she wanted.... and today we got it!

Ta-Da!

You know me, right?
I had to inspected it...

Then, my grandma cut the chicken breast and a yam... and I was there making sure she did it in the right way!

The yam... or sweet potato... or camote (hmm... sounds better in english!)

The chicken...

And out to the patio...

It is 8:15pm and I am still waiting for them to be ready.
Wish us luck!

Have a good night

Wow. Now that is a great, really fantabulous thingy. Alpha Mom's birthday is this summer. I wonder if she'd like one of those. Probably not so much since she's a non-cooking vegetarian, but it would save a lot of money in the long run. Those chicken jerky treats cost a lot more that just getting the chicken. And I bet home made is like a whole different experience. Hey, have you ever had duck jerky treats? Sometimes they have it at the Wal-Mart around here. I love it!

We totally LOVE Chicken Jerky and we like yams raw. Maybe we should ask Grammy to use her dehydrator to make us some dried yams? We wonder about dried carrots too?
Grammy loves her dehydrator. She makes beef jerky and rabbit jerky for the people, and dries several different kinds of fruits, too, like figs and persimmons… They’re pretty good, too! The CCC
