A New Year treat...

My mom told me she was going to let me eat something different to start the year... And I am here asking her about it...

A turkey leg... with a little meat

It was delicious!

Here I was about to chew the bone...

And my mom took it away!!!

Well.... I have to admit that before giving the bone to me, she took the meat out of it and put it in my bowl to enjoy it with my kibble. But she wanted me to have a taste of the bone too!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

You just put your left paw down on that bone, and go to it! It looks very yummy to me!

We don't want to burst your bubble, kiddo, but turkey can be very toxic to a dog's pancreas. Maybe a little white meat but NO fat or skin or gravy☺

Momma's smart to take the bone away! Cooked bones can splinter and cause big problems, or even crack your teeth.

They saw raw bones are real good, but I haven't worked up the nerve to give one to Marge yet..

Lorenza that looked a big bone for you, I did not get one of them.
We like your jumper, you are very stylish, you must be the best dressed dog I know, in fact in Mexico, no in the World even.

Yeah... What is it about Mom's anyway! Ours is always doing things like that! Sometimes she will hold the bone so we can take turns chewing on the ends of it a little, but she doesn't let us really get into them very far at all, and THAT's where all the flavor is!

At least she did let you have some of it. Some poor pooches aren't even allowed to chew bones at all... My cousins are in that position. OC & the CCC

Nommy! Those turkey bones are for licking, not eating, so your mom was right to take it away.

Certainly an improvement over boring kibbles.

What a nice treat! We got some turkey, too, but no bone. Mom wishes it was a way to get all the bones out and give us raw while cooking the rest, hehehe..

Oh Lorenza that looks so yummy I love turkey. You are a very neat young lady when you eat. Sometimes mom says, "Madi how in the world can one lady kitty make such a mess?" You see I don't like to have crumbs of kibble in my dish so as I eat each piece I move away from my bowl and drop crumbs on the place mat and floor around my dish. I tell her Mom a girl likes what she likes how she likes it!!! That confuses her. HA

Hi Lorenza

What a way to start off the new year!

Sadie isn't allowed to have poultry bones, but that doesn't stop her from trying to get them out of the garbage.

Lorenza... Take care! Los huesos se pueden comer siempre que estén crudos. Cocinados son peligrosos.

Looks like a great New Years treat!!

I'm glad she took the bone away from you! Cooked bones have a different composition than raw bones and if chewed up and eaten can cause some serious problems.

If you liked that turkey leg, then your mom should give you some raw chicken thighs, then you can eat the bone too. It sure looked very tasty to us too. Your Mom was so good to let you try it but take it away at just the right time.

You lucky girl, Lorenza!! Good thing you only got a quick sample of that bone - yummy but dangerous. You know what they say - if you like it, it's probably bad for you!!

Lorenza. We loved that video. For lots of reasons. You are one amazing turkey leg eater (you, and our Girl ... it's her favorite!) Your paws are so perfect at holding it just right, keeping it neatly on your very own floorcloth. You didn't get any on your pretty face. And those ears! They are beautiful! We don't remember ever noticing how pretty they are before! Must be the turkey fat that makes them glisten and look so soft and shiny! You ALWAYS look beautiful, and this post was no exception.

Can we come eat turkey legs with you?
