The Story of the Fortune Lambs...

3 lambs... one for my grandma's house, one for my auntie's house and one for my and mom's house!

Well... we really don't know where it comes from. My mom "asked" to Google for some info but she could not find anything! But, 5 years ago a friend of my mom gave to her the first one. Her friend told my mom to put it on her Christmas Tree. Right on the center of it so the lamb gets all the energy from the lights and ornaments. Then, the first day of the year you need to put it on your front door. The lamb needs to have a red ribbon around its neck. The "tradition" says that having a lamb on your door lets the abundance to come into your house. Wool in spanish is "Lana". A common way to name money here is "Lana". Soooo... the lambs with their wool mean... They have the money! And... very important... you must not buy the lambs. Someone has to give it to you as a gift. What do you do with the lamb from the last year?? You have to give it to someone else to share your good fortune!
My mom says that the "abundance" has not come into our house but we have enough to live everyday without worrying if tomorrow we will have something to eat. And that is very important, right?

This is our lamb that has been on our door all this year...
**********************

What I see??

To the right... a nice and blue sky...

To the left... a dark and scary sky!
(that happened in the same street!)

Better start walking before it gets all dark!
*********************************
Have a good night

That's a cool story about the lambs! My humans don't really have cool traditions like that about Christmas... maybe I'll tell them about your lamb tradition.

And stay away from those stormy clouds! It'll dirty your pretty dress!

Hey there Lorenza
Thank you so much for telling us about your Christmas lambs...that is a really interesting story. We love hearing about the cultures of the world. Some traditions last forever despite not quite knowing where they come from. What would we be without some traditions in our lives?
We wish you a prosperous new year - may your lambs multiply.

Thanks fr sharing the tradition of the lambs. We are sure that your home is filled with the "riches" of love and kindness that are so much more important than money.

And yes, sweet Lorenza, if you come to play with us, we can play inside and maybe we could even get Twix and Tank to come too - They don't live too far from us.

Hi Lorenza
thank you for the story....it is always nice to learn new things.
Madi loves your dress with bubbles on it...well she calls them bubbles anyway. When she was a kitty we bought kitty bubbles at the pet store (supposedly they had the scent of cat nip in them). She would play until the bottle was empty.
