Oscar, mi amigo.

Dear Oscar, run free at the rainbow bridge and wait for us who will join you someday and we will play and run together.
This is a very sad day for me and my mom. Yesterday, when I read about him being sick, I never thought it was so serious. I was hoping to hear good news about him. But now, knowing that Oscar is no longer with us, makes me feel very sad. He was a happy and energetic young boy. He was a gentleman too. It was a joy to read his blog. I was so happy when I read the comments he used to leave in my blog. I am going to miss him a lot.
From here I want to send his mom and dad kisses and hugs.
I read this somewhere, and I wanted to post t for him.
Why are you crying, I am not there.
Look not for me by the favorite chair, I am not there.
See me not at the bed's foot, nor at the door's step, I am not there.
Do not look to the earth's cold hand, it could not hold me, I am not there.
Look to the midnight star, a comet's flash, racing shadows in the field, sun lightsdance on water's edge.
Hear me, the rustle of the grass, pine bough sigh, the beat of bird's wings, the rain's quiet tattoo.
Feel me in your heart, for it is there I cannot leave.
Wait for my loving kiss, my paw's soft touch at Rainbow Bridge.
I will meet you there, and we shall dance again, together.

  17. Lorenza,

That is a beautiful poem with a wonderful message. You made our mom's eyes leak. It is so sad that one so young has gone to the bridge. We wish he could have stayed. We wish we could do something for his humans. They must miss him so much.

  18. Thank you for your lovely tribute. We are hurting so so badly now and just cannot understand why our healthy bouncy puppy had to go so soon and so fast. Knowing how much he was loved and will be missed is some comfort. When we are a little less sad we will update his blog so please call by.

  21. Hi Lorenza,
Your poem made my mommy get pee in her eyes again. She said she feels terrible for Oscar's mommy and daddy and that she can't believe how much of a shock they must be feeling. He really seemed like a wonderful boy. This is a tragedy.

    Love,

i am also crying tonight because mom's sister's cocker spaniel sadie has also gone to heaven. this is the sweet cocker that tad's & fig's girl grew up with. you might have read about her on tad's blog. anyway, she is gone now, too.

such a terribly sad day for all of us. maybe oscar and sadie are running and playing in the lush green fields togehter right now...
