I am a bird hunter!

And my mom and my grandparents are not happy about it! I will tell you the story...
(File picture)
My grandparents were having lunch and I decided to go out for a splash in my pool...

(File picture)
This bird was there on the wire and he came down for a splash in my pool! I thought he wanted to play and I chased him and I caught him!

This is what is left of the bird!

This is my doggie door now.... closed!

I am thinking I am in trouble...

But I just wanted to play... and have a snack!

***********************************
I did not eat him (even if I wanted) because my grandma saw me with him in my mouth and she made me drop it.
I am so proud of myself! But for now I am not allowed to go outside to the patio!
Have a good night
Besos

  1. Hi Lorenza,

Sorry you are trapped indoors. I hope they forgive you soon.

Our mom likes birds too. She keeps some in the house. Me and Banjo just act like they are not there, but when we go outside, we chase the wild birdies out of our yard.

  2. You are very deprived Lorenza. Do you want me to call the animal rescue in your area?

  3. Oh no Lorenza. That was a great catch. Anydog would be proud to snag a bird. Too bad parents don't understand that, eh? Maybe you can open a window and hope that a bird flies into the house!

  5. Great job Lorenza! You are truly a great hunter. Next, you should try hunting squirrels.

  6. You must of been quite quick to catch that little birdie! Next time you will have to hide all the evidence. And you might want to be quicker about getting the snack part too!

  8. Lorenza, I hereby make you an honorary member of the bird dog group! You doxies are supposed to go after rabbits and badgers and other ground dwellers, but who says you can't go after birds too?!

    Sedona

  9. You did exactly what any dog would do in the same place . . .go after the bird. All your instincts told you what to do and you did it. I chase birds in my yard every day but I am not fast enough to catch one! I think you should be proud of yourself, but I am glad you didn't eat it. Now, tell them to open your door!

    Kisses,
    Stella

  10. Poor, Lorneza! Maybe the next bird will see the feather and stay out of your pool.

  11. oh Lorenza....you are an animal! Foxie likes birds too- as a culinary item. Just try not to eat the endangered ones, OK?

  12. They should understand that you were just protecting them from the vicious bird!

I mean, Alfred Hitchcock showed the world how dangerous birds are if kept unchecked!

Whenever I go to the beach, I work very, VERY hard to keep all the seagulls and pelicans away from the beach. Sometimes I have to swim for hours to get rid of those pesky pelicans!

    You are a HERO.

  13. I'm sorry that your doggy door is closed. I would want to play with the bird too. Maybe he'll come for a visit tomorrow.:)

  14. Lucky! I haven't ever caught a bird. Only crickets and spiders and ALMOST a lizard once. Hopefully you will be allowed back in the pool tomorrow! :) Frankie

  15. Oh no, Lorenza!

You are in BIG trouble if they won't even let you outside. I bet they don't want any kisses from you for a while, too. All I can tell you is that you will have to look real sad, and maybe even cry, in order to get back on their good side. Actually, Lorenza, that bird might have been an attack bird and what you did was very heroic. Do you think that your
    family will fall for that?

Anyway, sorry to hear that you are in the dog house. Hope things improve for you soon.

    Love and Koobuss Kisses,
    Koobie

  17. wow EXCELLENT job, Lorenza!! Sorry to hear you're now locked in. I know how you must feel because mom banished me from the backyard for a few weeks earlier this year when I uncovered a baby bunny nest. No bunnies were harmed but I sure wish I coulda...! Hugs, Baxter

  20. Ooh, CC-man is shaking in his cage. That story really scared him. I do admit to chasing birds myself in the backyard, but CC-man is like my family.

I hope your grandma understands that the bird wasn't part of your family so you had the right to munch on him a bit (did he survive OK?)

  21. Hi there, Lorenza
We think you are very clever to catch birds...with your short legs and all. We didn't know that Daschunds went for the airborne stuff...we thought you dug in the ground for interesting creatures. Hope your door is open soon.

  25. Hi Lorenza
Well as your doggy friends we are very impressed and would say well done.
We have tried and tried but never managed to catch any birdies.
    You must be super quick.
It is a pity humans don't understand these things. After all you are a hunter!
What's more, like us, you are a hound.
Hope your parents and grandma are not too upset - funny things human beings but we understand Lorenza.

Bird hunting huh . Hmmm, I guess I prefer cat hunting xDD

The birds in my area are always flying around. There are few on the ground for me to chase :o

I'm so proud of you for being able to catch a flying object!!!

  45. nice going, I am impressed. I always make too much noise, and then they fly away, except for this blue jay who was trying to attack me once, when I was teasing her baby bird. I had to come inside too.

I hope the doggy door has opened by now :)
