This day, you take a slice of this bread and if you get the figurine you have to make a party the next February 2nd where the main dish are tamales.
*****
Here in Mexico, and mostly in the South, Los Reyes Magos are the ones who bring presents to the kids. Since I got my presents from Santa I did not write a letter to them, but, lucky me, they brought me something anyway!
An orange monkey
A pink elephant
A squeaky spider
Treats!
A "Calvin Can" sweater and pajamas
My mom cut a piece of rosca for me, which BTW I did not eat, and I did not get a figurine. My grandpa got it, so, he is going to buy the tamales next month!
Have a good night

HOla Lorenza, aquà en España también se come el roscón de Reyes y hay una figurita y un haba. Quien encuentra la figura es coronado rey y quien encuentra el haba tiene que pagar el roscón. Eso es la tradición pues ya se ha perdido...
ReplyDeleteUn besote.
Hola, Lorenza! Too bad your mom has you on a diet :(
ReplyDeleteIf you need any ideas for that elephant, this might help:
