My Grandma is fully recovered from her bronchitis and tomorrow morning she will be traveling to Mexico City to stay with my Auntie for 3 weeks.

3 weeks is a lot of time! I am going to miss her a lot. But, I know she is going to take good care of my Auntie and I hope she gets better soon.

Soooo, that means, I have to take another bloggy break. As you know my Grandpa is having his health problems too. My mom is going to be in charge of him, me and 2 houses... and of course her job.

I will ask her to make a post one of these days but I guess I will not be able to comment on your blogs. We will know what you are doing because she can read the GR in her office!

I promise I will be back as soon as my Grandma comes back!

Our holidays were very quiet. My Grandma was (is) sick. That mean bronchitis. My Grandpa fighting with the pain in his legs. And thinking of our Aunty Rosa (my grandma's sister) who was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. She will start chemo next tuesday. As soon as my Grandma feels better she will go to help her.

Nope. Not the best way to start this 2012 but we have faith things will be ok and everything will go back to normal soon.

My mom does not like to be in pictures. But I have one of her taken just 10 days ago...

Sure she has bad luck. It was her first time (and maybe the last one too!) visiting the new Santos Stadium. Her brother invited her to the game. She did not want to go but my uncle convinced her...
She says it was sooooo scary!
Thankfully nobody inside the stadium got hurt.

Two new uniforms have been created for the Santos players...

In spite of all the bad things... mexicans still have sense of humor.
I promise this will be the last time I write something about it!

There have been serveral things happening here.
My mom is still sick. She has been taking all her meds but she does not feel better.

My grandpa needs physical therapy for his legs. He will start his sessions tomorrow afternoon. They chose doing it in the afternoon so my mom will be able to take him there when she comes from work.

My mom started another project with the help of an "expert"... and it went wrong. She wanted to modify the "scary stairs" in our house... and now they are more dangerous than before. She needs to take care of that ASAP!

Then last tuesday, one of my mom's co-workers was kidnapped right in front of the plant when he was leaving to go home. There are no news of him since then. The police says that if you don't get news within the next 3 days, you can expect the worst. My mom is in fear and very sad at the same time. She was talking to him 5 minutes before the event. He told her how precious his daughter is and now, who knows if he will be able to see her again.

As you can imagine, blogging is not one of our priorities these days.

We will be taking a break.
My mom needs time to heal her body and her mind and she thinks the best way to achieve that is spending all her free time with me and my grandparents.
Better I go now because she is soaking the keyboard with her tears.

Scary days...

My mom has been sick for the last 10 days. Last weekend, when we did not have internet, she helped my grandma to paint the hall in her house. The walls were very damaged due to all the time the pipe was broken. It was very hot and the partern was... scrap the wall, sweat, go to stand in front of the fan then... scrap the wall, sweat, go to stand in front of the fan... until she finished the repair.
Result?? Bronchitis. Even so she went to work all the week. It was until friday that she felt a little better but the cough-cough thing does not want to go away!

Then friday we went to sleep not too late. And then, around 3 am, we were awakened by a very loud noise. We were so scared but did not know what was going on. I barked and barked wanting to go to my balcony but my mom did not let me out! 30 seconds later again the big noise and was then when we knew... it was the sound of bullets being fired! Then patrols, soldiers, sirens. Cars and trucks going at high speed. At 3:30 am everything was in calm. It was easy for me to go to sleep again... but not for my mom.
Some of those bullets made target on the painting store which is just next to our house!
Today we knew that there was a persecution of criminals. The police and the soldiers were trying to catch them. And lots of bullets were fired during the event.

This is something that happens every day here.
And every morning you wake up wondering how many were killed yesterday...
We don't like to talk about these things but this time... it happened sooo close to us!

My mom took these picture of the damage in the lower part of the store. The top of it looked awful but she was afraid of someone watching her taking the pictures.

It was just a little walkie to get fresh air... and back to home quickly!

Today afternoon we had very nice weather. Not very hot and of couse I went out for a walkie!

I read lots of pee-mails and saw very interesting things around my neighborhood...

Our nieghbor put a tent-shade-thing in her front yard. And looks like it was made to "fit" a very dead palm!!!

This neighbor has new appliances... and she has the remains of the packing right outside her house to prove it!

Next... a new house its being built... and it has a creepy guard!!!

My mom had planned to do some works in the house this weekend but... she got an ouchie in one of her fingers while doing the first task sooooo.... we had a very relaxing weekend...

Thanks a lot for you good vibes. My Grandpa came home yesterday. He was feeling much better. Problem is... today he did not eat again. My Grandma has been doing everything in her hands to help him but he refuses to cooperate!

Good vibes, please...

My Grandpa is in the hospital.
He is diabetic. He takes lots of pills to control the disease and all those meds have damaged his stomach and he does not eat very well. But the last 3 days he did not eat at all and of course he got very weak. My grandma and my mom decided to take him to the hospital so they could give him IV nutrients.
My mom say he could come home tomorrow.
Paws crossed!

A friend of my mom told her if my grandma could make a Santos vest for her doggie. My grandma said yes and she came today to visit us...

Hello!

And here comes Duke!

Duke is 8 months old... At first he was very nervous.... soooo nervous that he pee and poo in the living room! Can you see the stain on the carpet?? Sure he deserves the Joe Stains Award!

And then... as soon as he felt more comfy... he started sniffing my butt...
And I really don't like that!

I was not feeling happy...

Is he going away??

Yikes!
Now I can relax!

I love to meet new friends but... if those friends insist on sniffing my butt... I start feeling nervous and I don't want to stay close to them!

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday... and I don't have moneys to buy her a present.
But I am thinking of giving her a "priceless" present.
I want her to do nothing this weekend.
No renovations, no repairs, no cleaning, no laundry, no computer... nothing....
Just to be lazy and relaxed... spending all the time with me!

It had 3 main problems.
It was very high,
Was higher on one side and,
When my mom changed the door of the shower, the sink was no longer centered.

Now that is shorter, there are less drawers... but it is ok.
My mom got rid of things she really does not use!

Hmmm... I guess it is ok! Good job, mom!
Just two more details... a new mirror to hide the now not centered detail around the old one and the painting!

The old toilet is gone...
No more banging...
I can relax now!

I told my mom that I would share my bathroom with her if she wanted. For some reason she did not like the idea... hmmm

Ta-Da! A new toilet and no more ouchie in the wall!

I like to spend a good time outside in my balcony...

But... there is a "dirty" not so secret issue...

Someone is coming tomorrow to take it down from the roof.

I wll keep an eye on it just in case someone intends to use it!

This weekend all I wanted was to enjoy all the Picnic events. But my mom had another plans. And those plans did not include what I wanted...

Well.... I showed only half of the toilet...

This is the problem!
The men who built the house made a mistake with the discharge pipe.
And the toilet did not fit there... but ... they made it to fit!!

The problem is solved.... because there is no toilet now!!

All I want is to play...

Today we had 46°C (115°F)... Sandals or not my mom said I would not go out... period

Then I told her that at least she should wash my pool and set it in the patio. And she did it...

Thanks a lot for you comments on my sandals. It takes me just a couple of minutes to get used to them and then I am ready for my walkies. I know the color of the sandals don't match with the harness but... it is the only one I have and it is soooo hot for wearing dresses! But... my mom is now looking for pinky sandals... and I am sure she will find them... sooner or later...

The nerve of those two making fun of me

Much better!

Well, well, well.... You know my mom, right?? And she knows how much I love to go out for my walkies. Problem is the heat. And the ground being sooooo hot! Then she got this idea in her mind and was thinking... and thinking.... and thinking....

Then 2 weeks ago, my grandma was on the phone talking with her sister who lives in Mexico City and she told her about me not being able to go out. My grandauntie told my grandma about some sandals she saw in a store there. My mom took the measure of my paws, she called back my grandauntie and I got the sandals today.

My mom took 4 videos. Something happened to the first and the third videos. I guess I have to be thankful about the first one being lost. My grandma and my mom were LOL... and I mean LOL... that combined with my reaction...it was embarrasing!

It was not so bad at the end. It was nice to go out not feeling my paws burning!

There is just one issue with the sandals. Like almost everything made in Mexico... it looks like the 4 sandals are for right paws! Hmmm....

Here is where I see the biggest problem....

Where am I supposed to do my business????

The drainage piping is broken and has caused a lot of damage in the walls and the ground of my grandma's house. For years she has been saying that it needs to be fixed.
This time my mom did not make it. She is not strong enough for that work soo, last week my grandma said "enough"! She called someone to fix it and since last monday the mess begun! I hope it will be finished next friday or saturday. It has not been easy for me because I am used to go to MY bathroom all day long...
The "solution" has been to take me out 3 or 4 times outside to pee and poo. Not an easy task for my grandma since I don't like to go out if it is not my mom who takes me out! I do it... but I don't like it! *Sigh*

Better weather...

I am mad. It has been "years" since my last walkie...

What is that???

A new dress!!!

I heard a barking doggie...

OK! I did not see interesting things but loved my walkie and I am ready for a treat!

Today we had 93 degrees. It is hot but not as much as the last days so, we took the chance to go out for a walkie. My grandma made me this dress about 2 weeks ago, but I had not had the opportunity to wear it until today.

As soon as we came back, my mom went to our kitchen to bake a carrot cake. But first she had to make an adjustment on the stove. It was not leveled causing things to burn on one side. Tomorrow is my grandma's birthday, so my mom wanted the cake to be perfect! I will tell you the result in my next post!

IE9 and Blogger....

First IE9.... a pain in the..... then Blogger!

My laptop runs automathic actualizations. So, IE9 was installed. Then we discovered that now we can't make the posts as we used to. It does not let us align the lines and the pictures.
Firefox was our option and it worked "fine".
Then.... Blogger did not let me "enter" in my own blog!
Then.... we were not able to see your blogs! We don't know why!!
Then.... we decided to turn off the laptop and we went to sleep at 9pm! Hmmm....

But it was soooo hot! 114.8 degrees... at 10pm... kind of a nightmare.
Soooo... we took a shower and it felt so good!
Then... we were ready to go to sleep and I decided that I wanted another bath!

My mom said "NO"....

Well.... maybe tomorrow!

Very early sunday walkie...

Yesterday we had 115 degrees almost all day. Too hot to be outside. At 9 am, my mom went to the supermarket to buy the groceries and she came back at 10 am "sweating like a pig". I don't understand that pretty well but that is what she told my grandma!

We spent the rest of the day at home just being lazy.

Since the weatherman said today was going to be the same, my mom took me out for a walkie at 8 am. 95 degrees but it did not feel that hot.

I saw a kitty on a roof...

I saw this too. Lots of bags of garbage. And the worst thing is that the
garbage truck comes until tomorrow morning. Soooo... the stray dogs and the birds have a feast all the time... leaving a mess.... of course.

All those birdies were eating from the bags but they flew up there when we pass over there. I suppose the people who live there love the doves!

Time to go home!

We spent the rest of the day again at home. My grandma made burgers and my mom made a cheesecake and a gelatin for dessert.

I am afraid my week will be the same! At home with zero walkies! Good thing I have my mini pool so I can go to the patio to refresh my butt whenever I want!

Very hot day...

The weather here during the last 2 days has been almost impossible. It is very hot!

I don't want to imagine how it will be on July and August that are the hottest months!

Aaaand due to the temps I had not been able to go out for walkies and that is not funny...

But, today morning I had my breakfast and then I saw my mom choosing a dress for me!

And then... we went out for a very nice walkie!

A big tree lived here... the big hole means it will be replaced for another one...

All dead at the top.... new life at the bottom.

This is a lemon tree. It is in front of a house that was uninhabited for a long time. My grandma used to bring a bottle of water to "feed" it. And we used to take the lemons that fell to the ground. Now, there is a family in that house but they don't take care of the tree and we no longer take the lemons. We don't want to be called "thieves"!

Nope. She feels a little bit tired...

Some ears action...

While we were walking, we noticed the trees.

95% of the trees in our neighborhood look burned due to the 2 days of cold weather we had a couple of months ago.

Do you see the black marks?

The trees are so damaged that the logs and branches are like charcoal.

But... some of them are not completely dead.

You can see little green leaves coming out from interesting spots in the logs.

I hope they will be able to recover because they are very important!

First of all.... once again.... please forgive us for not visiting you this weekend. But... you know my mom right? Once she gets an idea.... and that idea is related on how she is so tired today.

Remember I told you about her mother's present for my grandma? Well... she finished it yesterday night.

Yes. My idiot mom built the roof for the cars!

Our house has no garage. The space to park them is weird.

My grandma contacted 5 companies to build it. None of them wanted to do it!

And you imagine how it feels to get into your car, at 2pm, having 110 degrees??

Oh-boy! It is like an oven.

Sooooo.... my mom said.... "Why not"? And there she goes...

I heard lots of HBO words when she was using the cutting and the welding machines. It was an interesting experience.

She got help from a friend specially to hold up the poles. Then she painted the frame and then she put the acrylic sheets.

Around 10pm... it was finished!
And my grandma is super happy with her present!

And here I am today morning admiring her job!

My mom feels so proud of her work... but she promised to herself that NEVER again she will do something like this!

Every inch of her body hurts right now!

She says this is the end of her DIY era!

Hmmm.... I hope so... but I know her!

Tomorrow we will back to normal.

Todays is Mother's Day in Mexico!

Here in Mexico, Mother's Day is celebrated on May 10th. Never change. It is not considered an official holiday but almost everyone uses to get half day off from work.

My grandpa took my grandma for lunch to a nice restaurant. My mom came home at 2:30 pm. And while we were waiting for my grandparents to come home, we had a very nice nap!

I gave to my grandma and to my mom a present...

Well... It was my grandpa who bought them, but he wrote my name in the card!

My mom's present to my grandma is a work in progress.
Yes. Another of her projects. But this one has been the hardest since she has no idea how some machines work!

I want to apologize for making you feel worried about us...

Thanks a lot for thinking of us and for all your comments and emails.

My grandma is doing pretty well but she still needs help with household chores.

My mom has been in charge of that these days.

Cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping.... etc, etc, etc...

She does not complain about that... problem is... she has to do it when she comes home from work...

We come to our own house around 11pm every day and we feel so tired that we don't think about turning on the laptop!

My grandma is almost fully recovered and wants to regain her normal life but her Doctor told her to take it easy for at least one more week.

I promise I will be back next weekend!

The surgery went very well. And my Grandma feels so well that she wants to come home... now! Of course the Doctor said "NO".

I was thinking on asking you all for a favor and look the word verification I got!

Would you please pray for my grandma?

She will have her surgery tomorrow morning.

She will spend tonight and 3 more days at the hospital. My grandpa is with her.

My mom is here with me. They don't want me to be alone during the night. And they will take turns to be with me and with my grandma during the day.

I will be here waiting for her until she comes home safe and healthy!

I guess we will not have time for blogging until things return to normal.

But I promise I will tell you how everything went, ok?

109 degrees!!!

Yes. 109 degrees. It is soooooo hot...

Thinking about my options...

My options are not good!

And the weatherman said it is just the beginning!

I have to stay inside my house...

And this is the fresher spot in my house right now... even with the carpet!

My weekend was not the best.

No walkies for me due to the temps.

At 10pm we have 90-95 degrees.

Some of you have suggested to go out for walkies at night when it is not "too hot".

But... things here are still very bad and it is dangerous to go out when is dark.

*Sigh*

First thing this morning... a surgery to take it away! Oh-boy!

Santos won!

The last two seasons, Santos got the second place at the final of the soccer championship. Both times, losing at the very last game.

This season... they have lost 7 games in a row... The worst streak in many years.

They changed their uniform so I changed my lucky dress too!

Well... it proved it was not so lucky.

Today, I decided to give them (the team and the dress) a last chance so I wore it when I went out with my mom and my grandma to buy some groceries.

And it finally worked! Tonight they won 3-0!

They don't have a chance for the Championship now but sure it was nice to watch them winning again!

Aaaand, while we were watching the game... my mom made cinnamon rolls and some ham and cheese snacks!

Oh-oh! My idiot mom took them out of the baking tray while they were still hot... and they kind of lost the shape... My grandma was very nice and told my mom not to worry... "They don't come into my mouth rolling"! Haa!

Just thursday...

For the first time since I came to live with my mom and my grandparents, I spent almost all the day alone.

Do you remember some days ago I told you my grandma had a "tummyache"?? Well... thanks to that, her Doctor ordered several tests. And one of those tests showed an ovarian cyst. A big one. Same size as my pink ball. Thankfully the "C" word is out of the picture! But she needs a surgery to take it away.

Today, she and my grandpa went again to see the Doctor, and then another to make sure her heart is ok for the surgery. Everything is in order and she will have the op in 10 more days.

When my mom came from work, they were not at home yet and I was soooo happy to see her! And of course I complained... very loud.... of all the time I was alone.

Soooo, to stop all the whining we went out for my walkie. No pictures of that... my mom forgot the camera!

I am sure all the people we see when we are outside, think my mom is crazy. First, because she talks to me all the time and second, because she always looks to the ground to make sure I don't step on something that could hurt my paws. Then, she picks all the things she finds on the ground. Well... not all of them... just the "interesting" ones! Haaa!

Everyday, after my walkie, my mom gives me my dinner in my grandparents house and while I eat it, she goes to our house to use the treadmill for about 40 minutes.

When I finish my dinner, I go to check how my mom is doing...

I walk around..

Then I sniff the treadmill... and it is when I hear her telling me if I want to try it...

Time to go back with my grandparents....

What the hell whas that???

Today morning my mom woke up very early. She brought the laptop to the bed and turned it on. Then I woke up too and joined her and we started reading your blogs while she was giving me nice belly rubs. Then we heard a big BOOM!... that left us without power.

The big transformer that is just outside our house was the culprit!

It was not the first time it happens but today we did not have rain or wind that are the usual causes for that. All I know is... it was soooooo scary!

The power came back around 6pm.

Perfect excuse for a very lazy sunday!

Easy dessert...

The ingredients:

1 cup of coconut

3/4 cup of brown sugar

1 cup of rice krispies

1 cup of chopped pecans

1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream

Mix all the ingredients except ice cream

You can use a big pyrex or individual bowls.

Spread a layer of ice cream on the bottom. Let ice cream to get soft... but not melted

Then a layer of the mix. Another layer of ice cream and finish with another layer of the mix...

Cover it with a lid (for small bowls) or with foil (for a big one). Place it in the freezer for about 6 hours and then...

Ta-Da!

Then close your eyes and concentrate yourself...

And maaaaybe they will share it with you!

Not a relaxing saturday...

My mom woke me up very early today. She took a shower and then we went to my grandparents house. I went to my grandma's bedroom to say hello, then to the living room where my grandpa was watching tv and I said hello to him and then I went to the kitchen for my breakfast. And there was no breakfast for me. Then I saw my mom with my dress in her hand and I knew the meaning of that and I ran away to my grandma's bedroom again! She gave me a big hug and that let my mom to catch me!

Next thing... I was in the car and in my way to the Vet! Time again to see how my thyroid is working. He stole my blood... then a pawdicure and the butticure too! Half an hour later we were ready to go home.

My mom made a stop to buy some yummy yougurt with fruits. It is a small stand where you order from outside what you want. My mom took me with her. She ordered and then we were walking along the block until she got the yougurt. We went to the car and then... it did not want to unlock the doors. She tried... and tried... and tried... no luck. Soooo... yougurts in one hand and me on the other, we walked back to home. 24 blocks later we finally got here. And I was really hungry! I had my "breakfast" and then I took a looooong nap.

While I was sleeping, my mom took the other alarm control and went to get the car. That one did not work either! Then, she called to the place where the alarm was installed and a man came to her rescue... one hour later! He could open it but told my mom the "brain" had to be changed. She went to the place and it was changed.

When she came back, my grandma told her she wanted to go out to buy a pair of crocks for my grandpa and a box of Rice Crispies for a dessert. And I went with them. We visited lots of stores and... no Crocks... no Rice Crispies! Our last chance for the Crocks was a very expensive store... and of course we found them there! My grandma paid around 150 dollars for them!

Then... the cereal. Another expensive story. We found it at a store that sells imported food. 20 dollars for a box of Rice Crispies! And back to home... happy with our "treasures" and with empty wallets!

Now, we have another issue. My mom uploaded the pictures from my walkie in the laptop. Deleted them from the camera... and then the camera died! She put it on the charger until the light said it was ready... and it is still dead!

Hmmm.... one more of those days, right?

My mom got her results. Very good ones!

The Doctor told her "I don't know what did you do... but you did it pretty well"!

Last year, her colesterol was so high that he told her she had to be careful.

This year, her levels are more than perfect!

I guess the healthy food and the treadmill have helped her a lot!

Tuesday mysteries...

This is how you "normally" see my blog...

But today morning, a very good friend, sent to my mom an email letting her know about something she saw in my blog and she sent a picture...

Frogs!

Hmmm... maybe these were Norwood friends who wanted to appear in my blog!

My mom called my Uncle asking him to go to my blog and to tell her if he could see them.

He told her that everything looked normal.

Hmmm...

Then my mom had to wait until she came home to see it by herself.

And it looked normal. Maybe it was a "blogger acting weird moment"...

But, she could not check it a soon as she came home because another mystery happened.

I was at the door waiting for her. She came into the house, she left her lunch bag on a chair and then she took me in her arms to go to my grandma's shop. She felt something wet. Then...

She saw blood in her blouse. She came into a panic attack! She made a full review of me and... nothing! She took a white towel to pass it along all my body. You name it... head, body, legs, paws, "rear end", "pee part", tail... nothing!
Then you know what happened next, right? A visit to my Vet! He made a full... and I mean a "full" review on me an he found... nothing!
He told her not to worry and to keep and eye on me just in case it happens again.

She is still thinking.... "wtf"???

I feel fine. I really don't know what was that!

Hmmm.... I guess it was just one of those days, right?

For "some" reason she has now a big headache.

A little weekend project...

This morning, she went out very early to Sam's and...

She came back with this!

These are lots of pieces... and my grandma and my mom are clueless...

But... I read the instructions and told them how to do it...

I wanted to help them, but my paws are not skilled enough soooo...

I played while they worked.

When they finished... I made an inspection...

Good job, grandma and mom!

Now... they need to decide what to keep and what to throw away there in the patio and then everything will look nicer!

Sounds like a project for the next weekend!

Since my surgery I did not want to play a lot or to be very active. My walkies were very short and I just wanted to have my dinner and then go to sleep.
My walkie today was longer than the last few days.

I am the one who decides which way we should go and how long I want to walk.

Today we were out for about an hour and when we came back, I had my dinner and after that I wanted to play with my mom. And she was very happy for that!

And right now, she is typing my post with one hand and throwing the ball for me with the other one!

All new and nice...

And at that time my grandma told me that I would not be allowed to be up there after my mom took the pictures!

My mom did not like the "big legs" that the couches had, but she did not say a word about them...

And now.... they have "almost no legs"....

My grandma took them away because the couches were too tall for me!

And new covers so I can go up there all the time!

Today my mom finally finished knitting my sweaters...

A total of 20 sweaters! (16 in the pictures, the other 4 in the washing machine)

They are pawesome. I like them a lot.

But.... there is now a problem...

The temps.

27°C (80°F) at 8:33 pm

The last 3 days have been very hot...

Meaning... I need to be naked!

*sigh*

Well... since I am a very optimistic girl I would say...

Next winter I will be very warm!

PS. I guess the hot cake mix is the same you call pancake mix... or the flour that comes in a box and it is prepared to make pancakes!

Cake!!... not for me....

For Valentine's Day we did not do anything special because my mom HAD to go to work! But, when she came home in the afternoon we went out for a walkie and then she decided to bake her Silly Cake... or the Big Hot Cake like my uncle calls it!

It is very easy to make...

1 cup of hot cakes mix

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of vegetable oil

5 eggs

Put everything in the blender and then pour the mix in a cake pan. (my mom covers it with wax paper).It goes to the oven at 190°F for 30-40 minutes and.... Ta-Da!
No icing. Just the cake and my grandparents love to eat it for breakfast with a cup of coffee or chocolate!
And they say it is delicious! Hmm...

Can you see my face of "She did not give me even a crumb"??

Crazy weather!

The weatherman said that today was going to be very cold... Wroooong!

Thankfully it was warm and sunny so I could go out for my walkie...

My new dress made for my grandma almost a month ago but I had not been able to wear it!

Soooooo cold......!

It has been sooooo cold here! Thursday night we had 10°F!!! Another record. The worst since 1954! And of course nobody here was prepared for this!

Next monday is a holiday for us. My mom had been thinking all the week about a very nice and relaxing long weekend buuuut... her weekend did not start as she had planned!

Yesterday morning we woke up as normal, she took a shower and then she went to work. There, almost everyone were complaining about not being able to take a shower because the pipes in their homes were frozen. My mom thought she was lucky. Then at 1pm, my grandpa called her to say that the pipes in our house were broken! My mom found a plumber but he came to our house at 9pm. He fixed the pipes and then he found lots more of leaks. He did not have material to fix them so he said he would come today but asked to my mom to buy the new pipes and connections.

Soooo, very early this morning my mom went to find the materials. And... oh-boy! it was a hard task! Almost all the "plumber stores" were out of cooper materials! She came back around 11am with them!

The plumber came again... and he needed some more couplings! There she went. It was crazy to see all the people trying to find connections. Well.... it was until 4pm that everything was fixed! And we hope the temps will not be that low again because my mom could not find those tube covers needed to prevent freezing!

We have only a small heater in our house. Not enough to keep us warm. I have no problem because I just go under my pawesome blankie and I am ok but you should see my mom. She is wearing her pj's, a very thick sweater, 3 pars of socks and gloves! Haaaa! I wish I could take a picture of her!

And she did something else...

These very nice socks were given to my mom as a present these past Christmas. They were in the closet because it was not so cold to wear them and now...

Haaa!

They became pawesome "butt heathers"!

And this is how I spent almost all day long!
I hope that Phill is right and the spring is coming soon!

I want to give you some tips to make your parents weekend exciting!

Tip # 1. On a friday afternoon and when they come from work, don't greet them as you use to do it.

Tip # 2. Refuse to go out for a walkie.

Tip # 3. Next day (meaning saturday), wake up very early but stay there on the bed just like a statue.

If you follow all those tips I guarantee a very exciting day...

Next thing you see is, (as in my case), your mom taking a super quick shower, dressing up super fast and taking you to your Vet's place.

Problem is, the events that follow are not funny (for you).

She explains the symptoms to your Vet, then he touches your throat and you cry. Then he checks your temperature... your know how... then he introduces a torture device in your larynx and you cry more. He does not see anything and decides to take some x-rays to make sure there is nothing stuck in your throat. The x-rays show an impressive inflammation. Then you get two shots, one for the infection and one for the inflammation. Your Vet prescribes pills. Your mom pays the BILL and then you go home with an appointment for the next saturday.

As soon as you get home (around 1pm) you demand your food and after that you act like nothing happened!

Next thing you see your is your mom dyeing her hair to cover more gray hair that magically appeared in the last 18 hours!

Believe me... it works!

Well... thinking it better... nope... don't follow my tips.
I am sure there are better ways to have a really exciting weekend!

I still feel a little discomfort but I am doing much much better now.

The mean mailman came today to my house to deliver a package that sweet Twix and her family sent to me with pawesome presents for my birthday!

Dates: November 19, December 22, January 28!

Yes... more than 2 months to bring it to me!

Hmmm... and then you ask why I call him "mean mailman"!

Twix told me she wore the sweater... and I can smell her!

She sent to me yummy treats and a bully stick to give it another try.

I am still not so sure about it... it smells yummy but I guess I am lazy and it is very hard for me. I promise I will give it a good chew again!

This is a real story.

Last August, my mom saw in the newspaper that our Postal Service had increased the postage costs by more than 500%! Her jaw hit the table and after putting it again in place, she took the phone and called to the PS Office. They told her it was true. Oh-boy! I heard lots of HBO words! To give you an idea about the new costs let me say... the postage for a card that weighs 20 grams (0,705479239 oz) used to be 1 dollar. With the increase, the cost would be 5.50 dollars!

Was in that moment that my mom told me that if the Christmas Card Exchange would be organized, we would not be able to be part of it.

I was very sad. I did it for the past 3 years! Then, when it was time for the register, I sent an email to Sprinkles saying that I wanted to participate but that I would send only e-cards.

Then... it came December and I got serveral e-cards which I loved. I did not get a single card by snail mail and I thought that it was fair. If I did not send real cards, nobody was going to send to me real cards.

Today, January 22, I was with my mom while she was cleaning our house.

But.... he is going to hear her next time he comes!!
We know the PS in Mexico is bad... but not this BAD!
